Marcus Lumber Celebrates Five Years in Storm Lake with Community Open House and Announces New Warehouse Expansion

STORM LAKE, Iowa – Marcus Lumber Company is inviting the community to celebrate five years of serving Storm Lake during a special 5th Anniversary Open House on Thursday, July 9. The celebration will feature morning donuts, door prizes, product specials, giveaways, and an opportunity for customers to visit with the Marcus Lumber team while reflecting on the company’s first five years in Buena Vista County. Since opening its Storm Lake location, Marcus Lumber has expanded its product offerings, grown its team, strengthened relationships with contractors and homeowners, and invested continuously in serving the northwest Iowa region.

As part of that continued commitment, Marcus Lumber is also announcing construction of a new warehouse, adding nearly 5,000 square feet of covered storage space to the Storm Lake campus. The expansion represents one of the company’s largest investments in the location since opening and is designed to improve inventory capacity, product protection, and operational efficiency. “Our investment in Storm Lake didn’t end when we opened the doors five years ago,” said Grant Leavitt, part owner of Marcus Lumber. “We’re continuing to invest because we believe in this community, our customers, and the future of northwest Iowa. This new warehouse allows us to carry more inventory, and improve service.”

The additional warehouse space will provide greater flexibility for stocking building materials while protecting products from the elements, helping Marcus Lumber continue delivering the quality and service customers have come to expect. “We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from Storm Lake and the surrounding communities,” Leavitt added. “This anniversary isn’t just about looking back—it’s about celebrating what we’ve built together and looking ahead to the next chapter.”
