Marcus Lumber recently announced a 7,000 square foot building addition to its existing retail store. With the expansion Marcus Lumber will focus on displaying many more of the latest interior and exterior building material options available. The new space will double the showroom space at Marcus Lumber, and will allow the fourth generation family business to offer something unique for its northwest Iowa customers.
“With so many product choices available today, having an expansive showroom is no longer a nice-to have option, it’s a must have for our customers, said Jim Leavitt of Marcus Lumber. “We’ve seen customers be able to have so much more confidence and satisfaction in buying their home project materials with our existing showroom that we’re excited to be able to expand upon that service with our store’s addition.”
Marcus Lumber currently has an 18,000 square foot home center store that was built new in 2005 after an extensive fire destroyed previous buildings. This new 7,000 square foot space will allow Marcus Lumber to expand in many of the current departments they offer such as flooring, kitchen, bath, sidings, stone, millwork, along with windows and doors to name a few. New product departments will also be added into the mix. Marcus Lumber also plans to expand upon its hardware product selection through this expansion project.
“Progress has been moving along on the project already”, says Bob Leavitt of Marcus Lumber. “With the walls up and roof on, we are very happy to have the building fully enclosed before the real cold winter weather hit us. A completion date is schedule for late 2016.”
Marcus Lumber has been proud to serve the local communities for over 95 years offering a complete line of building materials for the do-it-yourselfer to the professional.
