Ground Breaking on New Independent Living Complex

Marcus Lumber and Hohbach construction are pleased to announce the construction of an independent living complex named The Regency located in Marcus. The new complex will be constructed North of the Heartland Care Center located on Beech Street. To recognize the beginning of the project, a groundbreaking was held on Friday October 18^th. Marcus Mayor, Harlan Hansen commented “We’re excited for the opportunity to fulfill a community wide need in providing an attractive, independent living solution for seniors in the area. This fits within the city’s recent comprehensive plan very well.”

The Regency will be made up of 4 individual units with a shared common community activity room. The site will boast an attractive exterior with a mixture of siding and stone while having a zero-step entry and appealing interior finishes. Each unit will consist of 2 bedrooms, 1-1/2 bathrooms, attached garage, living room, kitchen, fireplace, walk out patio and generous storage including an unfinished basement. Purchasers of the Regency units will be part of an association which includes snow removal and lawn care services.

Jim Leavitt of Marcus Lumber adds, “We felt this was a great way to spur economic activity in the Marcus housing market. We’ve had a great response so far with half the units committed already.” Construction is scheduled to be completed in the Spring of 2020.
